I believe Americans bathe too much. Bathing habits in the U. S. are a cultural construct and have nothing to do with health. No other culture is as obsessed with bathing as here. I dislike traveling but I constantly hear complaints from those who do about the body odors in countries they visit.
American health habits are driven by commercial interests. Health and Beauty Aids is a trillion dollar industry and the commercials, advertising and product placement is unavoidable and its effect total.
Sweat is the body's lubricant, moisturizer, sunblock, screen against germs such as mold, fungus and other of natures attacks. Each individuals sweat is specifically formulated by each body for their skin.
To wash off the lotion designed by my body and replace it with a commercial product does not make sense to me. I do not believe some pharmaceutical company knows my skins requirements better than my body.
On days I do not work up a sweat I do not shower. If I do not work up a sweat in 2 days on the third I will shower. But even then it is so as not to offend more than any thing having to do with health.
